Challenges in Education.

The education in Chile is a topic very important today. In this new century, the secondary and university students took consciousness about their rights and began to fight for their needs.

The topics that discussed are quality and free of education. In Conclusion the students want  the education be equal for all.
The students  fight through protests, marchs, cultural interventions and strikes in their schools and universities. For attract attention of State.

At present, the state, has done changes in education but students don't are happy with the changes because education still is unequal.

The education is very importan for a country because is basis for individuals construction. With education, crime for example, would be much lower. furthermore education, delivery more opportunities.

The challenges of society in education are that people take consciousness that education is important.

Students don't should just keep doing strikes and marches, must create new ways to make people aware of this. So the students challenge, is carry this problem to all people, for this fight to be of all and not just of few. So, more things will be achieved.

 

 

An expert on my field...

Today I'm going to talk about an expert on my field. My study field is the sociology. That which is a branch o social sciences that studies the relations and interactions between individuals, and between social groups of the society.

The sociology covers different areas of study. for example, political sociology, economic sociology, art sociology, sport sociology between others. 

Exist many important sociologists but most are dead. One well-known expert on the sociology that still alive is Jürgen Habermas.

Jürgen Habermas is a German sociologist and philosopher in the tradition of critical theory and pragmatism. He is perhaps best known for his theories on communicative rationality and the public sphere.

 

Habermas was born in Düsseldorf, Rhine Province, in 1929, to a middle class and rather traditional family. He studied philosophy and sociology under the critical theorists Max Horkheimer and Theodor Adorno at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main Institute for Social. The Frankfurt school is a important Institute for Social Research in the which a researchers group adhered to the theories of Marx, Hegel and Freud.

The importance his job is: his research about to foundations of social theory which seeks to analyze the societies of advanced capitalism.

Today, Habermas has 86 years. In his life he has received many awards for his research. For example: Theodor W. Adorno Awars in 1980, Karl Jaspers Prize in 1995, The Prince of Asturias Foundation in Social Sciences in 2003, Ulysses Medal, University College Dublin in 2010, The Munich Culture Award in 2012, between others. Furthermore, the last prize that he has received was Erasmus Prize in 2013, that is an annual prize awarded by the board of the Praemium Erasmianum Foundation to individuals or institutions that have made exceptional contributions to culture, society, or social science in Europe and the rest of the world.

In the personal, I like habermas because is a sociologist that created his own theory, in based the important sociologists of history, but his studies remains original.

My Future Job

Hi everybody. Today, I’m going to talk about my future job.

Currently I study sociology, which is a branch of social sciences that studies to relations and interactions of the society. I chose this career because I always wanted understanding to society and try to create projects that improve person's life and life between persons.

The sociology covers different areas of study and and I think that all are very interesting but I would like to work in the art sociology area, because I love the art and I think  that art is a  expressions of the society's process, that show the thoughts, feelings and ways of acting to the persons. 

In my future job, if I work independently way, I would work outdoors and I travel all around the world. Furthermore I would like studying in the countries I will visit. For the same, I wouldn't like to work in an office, because I would not like to be in the same place all day.

Be sociologist is very interesting and funny and really oneself can contribute to help the different situations of the society for example a sociologist can create a regulatory plan for teen pregnancy in the public schools. 

Finally in my future job like art sociologist I can contribute to society studying for example: the paintings or the music of a certain time and see how they influence the groups of those same times.

"My favourite music"

Hi friends...

Today, I´m going to talk about "My favourite music". 

This topic is very special for me, because the music has been part of my life all the time. Always    I'm listening music and my favourite style is the rock though I very like also the metal, blues, jazz, glam rock and ballad of the 80´s and 90´s.

When I was child, my parents showed me all kinds of  music but their favorite is ballads, we used to listen to bands like the bee gees, eagles, journey, foreigner, cheap trick, Air supply, A-ha between others and singers like Bryan Adams, Rod Steward etc. And I enjoyed very much of these moments and started my taste for the music. 

I liked these bands because their music made me happy and their songs were sweet and beautiful.

Today, I like more kinds music and  different bands ans singers. My Favourite bands are "The Doors", "Led Zeppelin", "Pink Floyd", "The Beatles" because their music is strange, crazy, mysterious and make me think and their songs give messages that make me think.

Finally, the music has also been part of my life through the dance, because  I  dance and the music is a fundamental part of it. 

My Favourite piece of technology

Hi friends! 

Today, I'm going to tell you about my favourite piece of technology. The truth, I don´t like technology, because I don´t understand a lot about it but if I choose, I can say that my favourite piece of technology is the laptop.

My laptop was a present from my dad when I studied to the university because I needed it for study. Since that day I use it all the time and always I carry it with me.

I use my laptop to study, to listen to music, to play, to read, to watch the movies and TV series and talk with my family and friends online. 

I love my laptop because with it I can do all I need for the university or for talk with the people that is important to me and also because is portable and easy to carry.

finally without my laptop I would feel lost and I would cry all the time. ha ha it is a joke but without my laptop I would be very bored.

My expectations for a new semester

This year is very important to me, because I have many projects to do. These projects are all things that I love and that are important  achievements to my life.

This semester has been a semester with many new things. I'm in second year Sociology and I hope to pass all my subjects and also learn much more about them. My subjects are very interesting and my favorites are "Social Theory" and "Quantitative Methodologies" and I would like be helper in a future of these.

The extracurriculars that I have in the university this semester are: a sociology of art group, in the which learn about art and about their relation of society and I expect to we post a magazine sociology of art. Also, I hope to do more sport and I've a I will have a more healthy life.

Finally I hope to this semester is be a good student and be happy.

My autobiography

Hi friends, My name is Paula Ponce and I'm going to talk about my life. I was born on 1th of November of 1994 in Curicó, Chile. Currently I'm twenty years old and I live in Santiago of Chile because of my studies.

In Curicó, I live with my parents and my sister Catalina, she has fourteen years old and we are very close. In Santiago, I live in San Miguel with my Grandaunt and her daugther Roxana. 

My Grandaunt is very nice with me but I miss very much to my family and usually I try to travel to be with them.

I study Sociology in the University of Chile and I love my career. The sociology is a career that studies of the society and the relations that exist between in the persons. This, is a very interesting program in which you need to read a lot.

Finally I like the music, the art, the theater, read and walk., but what I like is dance. 

I dance, contemporary dance, and also others kinds of dance.
